Joshua Tree, soon after the new year...staying for 5-10 days, its negotiable if you chip in a tiny bit for gas, I will be driving to meet up with some friends in Joshua Tree. They will be coming from down south, so I'm driving by myself. So I have room, I plan to hike around, but mostly boulder. I got a crash pad, rope, and draws I will be bringing. If you want a ride, let me know, all I ask for is what you can spare to afford, some money for gas or a couple cooked meals would suffice.

Aloha everyone:)
I am new to the bay area...from kauai...from NYC...and new to climbing!
I have been bouldering 2 times and love it!
I was hoping to connect with some people around here that wouldnt mind showing a gal the how to's. I know there is a great gym down in Berkeley, but I love being outside too much!
I was just laid off from my job...so I have tons of time!

Man those climbing gyms are pricey. I can't stand the idea of forking out for some indoor lycrafest. I guess I am just cheap, or maybeI just want to limit the amount of public humiliation I endure. so I put all the money I would have spent at an indoor wall buying a bit more gear. almost 400 bucks at REI, but I got a harness that fits, a rope, a dozen slings, and even a cool chalkbag. so I am ready to go out !! scared but stoked too, maybe choogle on up valley way next week, no partner yet, but…

Hi and welcome. I think it would be cool to chronicle my return to climbing. I was an avid climber during the mid '80's. I got introduced to it by the husband of a friend of my girlfriend. We hit it off and would go out climbing every chance we could. He was the better climber, but I had my moments. During that time, he got divorced, and I split up with my girlfriend, but we kept climbing. We also got stoned a lot. In June of '88 we got very high indeed on the Nose of El Cap. Unfortunately, the…

I find myself longing for trees and rock faces. These concrete walls stacked with people are claustrophobic at times. I miss the long expanse of Mountain views, the valleys in between filled with lakes, rolling hills, grass, and trees. Knowing there is nothing for miles and miles.
I have four day weekends for the next 11 weeks, and then 3 weeks of complete freedom. I've got to get into some trips. Red Rocks, City of Rocks, Smith Rock, Lover's Leap.

Well it has been way too long since I checked out the site. I would like to say that it was because I have been
so caught up in climbing but in truth I have just been lazy.
The good news is that I have been able to climb a little (most recently in Yosemite) and I will be working in the Yosemite area for the next few weeks. (I hope to get some more weekday sessions in).
That is it for now just wanted to let everyone know that I wasn't ignoring them just haven't been on the net that much.

Well, I finally got outside today - it's been a long week and a half without any rocks. After dropping Mike off at the base for school, I drove the 20 minutes across town (only missing one turn) and located a great little spot for bouldering. It's really just a retaining wall, about 15' high, but it's been worn down enough that there are great crimpy edges and occasional pockets. Okay, maybe it's more like a chunky vertical slab. I spent about 45 minutes - before it got too dark, doing a little…

For several months now my climbing friends have been bailing on me. I can't get any of them out of their houses. They're so pathetic that I've given up all hope. So, I'm here to find better climbing partners- more reliable, supportive, and fun.

SAVE THE VALLEY ROCK GYM:
Friends and fellow climbers I am putting out the call for help. As some of you may know, on Wednesday March 26th the Livermore Area Recreation and Parks Department will be voting on the fate of the Valley Rock Gym in Livermore. The Valley Rock Gym was purchased by the LARPD a little over a year ago as an attempt to bring a new and exciting sport to the people of the bay area. Unfortunately many of the board members now see the gym as a lost cause. I can tell all of you…

I would be looking to hit the great outdoors Friday and Saturday but, it looks as thought the weather is against me. So not to be deterred I am looking for anyone who wants to hit any of the gyms in the bay area. I am off on both days ( a truly rare thing), and want to climb with some new folks. Normally I climb / set at Vally Rock in Livermore, and I have also spent a lot of time at City beach and PG Sunnyvale. If we need to I am willing to go to any of these gyms but I am looking to see some n…
