Was away for a bit, ended up moving back down to SoCal again. When the job moves, I follow the money. This time, I'm in Thousand Oaks, CA.Anyhow, I'll be posting ads again and focused back on the site starting right now ;)

Any one here on Climbcast climb at Boulderdash in Thousand Oaks? Wondering how the routes are and/or the crowd (are there lots of screaming kids, etc) Thanks!

Still trying to figure out how best to group the areas, please made suggestions!

I've been to the sub section of the secrets known as the Mystics, which is suppose to be the most dense bouldering area of The Secrets. I have to say I was a little let down, but there are some cool boulders there and probably lots of potential for…

Going to Bishop January 18-22. Hopefully climbing will be hard; plan to send some classics if the finger heals up. Really want to get to the gorge if we have time. Will be in pleasant valley campground, AKA The Pitt.

Some guy kept on saying this to me at Mortar Rock: "Aw, that is old school burl fest man." I can only guess what that means.

What are some saying that you keep hearing when climbing? Funny or otherwise, add to the list. My favorites: "Just stand up!" Or after loosing it and hitting the crashpad: "Still think you're a tough guy?"

Moving, FORWARD

Okay, I've almost settled on the new network platform (off of Ning.Com) and the entire site will soon be moving.

The URL will remain the same, and right now I'm trying to find a way to seamlessly move all the accounts. That's the hard part with Ning.Com, it's not easy.

Assuming things go well, we'll only loose some of the forum postings.

All in all, we'll be better off in the long run (and able to get the non-profit status).

More news to come.

Another week...

... another week has passed and I still don't have the art I was trying to pay for.

anyhow... moving on to other providers, I guess. It's a blessing anyhow, I've been totally swamped at work and haven't even had time to climb (once in the past two weeks!). I should be ahead of the curve on the work front now, however.

I need to get the logo squared away, so I can make hats and shirts and posters and cool stuff to give away at an event where I video a bunch of people on a bunch… Continue

Logo and stuff

Just got word that the company/friend I wanted to hire to develop a logo and typeface for me is finally getting getting to our project. This is really huge because I've been waiting on them to make the hats and t-shirts and stuff that I'm going to use as incentives to get people on the site and to post video.

Assuming it all goes well, we'll have a kick ass logo and I'll be able to move forward with getting the site really going.

It's winter time now too, so as long as the weat… Continue

Rain

I find it really classic and ironic that as soon as I get the camera and a new cash pad and everything set, it goes and rains.

Which areas are still good to climb at when it's this wet (in the Bay Area that is)?

Back Stateside

I just got back to the US this afternoon. A brutal but needed business trip for my day job. I am jet-lagged and hazy, but ready to get to it.

I was in Kuala Lumpur, and stuck in conference rooms and offices for 10 straight days. I did manage to jam over to a climbing gym though and it was a nice place for top rope and lead climbing, but pathetic four bouldering. There were no "problems" per se, just all the extra holds from the top rope areas thrown on the walls. I worked up a decent sw… Continue

hey troy,

thanks for the info! I looked into rockreation but from what i hear about it, it's not as good as boulderdash or beach city rocks (which i think is now hangar 18) haha.

I probably won't join a gym until i know where i'll be. I'm coming up to the bay area next week. Let me know if you're free to climb during the day???

Troy,
Are you still in climbing condition (no injuries etc..)? If so we should meet up to climb some time (be it plastic or stone). You live in Dublin and now I moved to Tracy so I have to pass by your area every day. Let me know if you are interested, and if you want to meet some of the other members we could go to the Livermore gym. Almost all of the regulars at that gym have joined.

Let me know if you are interested and if you are on facebook hit me up.

Troy,
The site is looking good man, keep it up. Be patient, I'm sure it'll pick up. I'll bring more climbing friends to the site as soon as I make some =o)
