have never been to MC or BIW, but that seems like the best place to start, would like to find some other lowbies to do a Lovers Leap weekend with. Will probably stay in 5.7-5.9 range this summer. Back in the day I lead in the 10+ to 11- range,

5.7 - 5.9 to start. I got old and fat, I used to climb multipitch in the valley 20 years (and 50 pounds) ago. I want to start up again and looking for the hookup.
Favorite Climbing Areas:
Valley, Meadows, Lovers Leap, Pinnacles, Castle Rock and out of the area, I liked Devils Tower and the Gunks

Man those climbing gyms are pricey. I can't stand the idea of forking out for some indoor lycrafest. I guess I am just cheap, or maybeI just want to limit the amount of public humiliation I endure. so I put all the money I would have spent at an indoor wall buying a bit more gear. almost 400 bucks at REI, but I got a harness that fits, a rope, a dozen slings, and even a cool chalkbag. so I am ready to go out !! scared but stoked too, maybe choogle on up valley way next week, no partner yet, but… Continue

Hi and welcome. I think it would be cool to chronicle my return to climbing. I was an avid climber during the mid '80's. I got introduced to it by the husband of a friend of my girlfriend. We hit it off and would go out climbing every chance we could. He was the better climber, but I had my moments.
